The New Westminster Police Service seeks the public’s assistance to locate Bongani NYONI, a Thirty-Eight year old New Westminster resident, who has now been charged with three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault after having sexual intercourse with three women while knowing he was HIV positive. New Westminster Crown Counsel has issued a Canada wide warrant for NYONI’s arrest as it is believed he may have travelled to eastern Canada. The offences date back to May of 2006 and investigators are concerned that NYONI may continue to engage in intimate relations with females without disclosing his medical condition. Investigators are seeking any information from the public that could assist them in determining NYONI’s location. |

The New Westminster Police are now confirming that the 11 year old child injured earlier today in a pedestrian Motor Vehicle Collision has now succumbed to his injuries. This is an active and ongoing investigation and the name of the victim is not being released at this time. Furthermore, all subjects directly involved in the incident are known to investigators and there is no one in custody or being sought at this time. Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who may have been in the area of 6th Avenue and McBride Boulevard at approximately 8:00 AM this morning who may have observed the incident to please contact Sgt. Trevor DUDAR or Cst. Stu HAGEN at 604-525-5411. As can be imagined this has been a very traumatic experience for all involved, most importantly for the immediate family and friends of the deceased. Measures are being taken to ensure appropriate support is put in place for all involved. Further media updates will be made available when appropriate. |

At approximately 0820 hours June 7, 2010 a vehicle collided with a pedestrian at or near the intersection of McBride Boulevard and Sixth Avenue. B.C. Ambulance Service attended and transported the pedestrian to Royal Columbian Hospital. The pedestrian’s medical status is not known at this time. The McBride Boulevard Northbound curb lane in the Six Hundred Block remains closed as investigators remain on scene. Details will be provided as they become available including the road closure status. |

The male that died while being dealt with by RCMP and Ambulance attendants in Penticton has now been identified as Gordon Brent AMYOTTE, a thirty-nine year old resident of Penticton. On May 28th 2010, at approximately 1 pm, Penticton RCMP and BC Ambulance attended the four-hundred block of Martin Street on reports of a male exhibiting erratic behavior. The New Westminster Police Service is conducting this in-custody death investigation. Police investigators request that anyone that may have witnessed the incident or, have information regarding AMYOTTE’S whereabouts on May 28th, 2010, contact them. |
