Road Rage
 
Police received numerous reports of an assault in progress at the intersection of Royal Avenue and 8th Street in New Westminster. Separate witnesses reported that one male assaulted another male as a result of a road rage incident.   This occurred in front of John Robson School. A 35 year old male exited his vehicle and approached the vehicle in front of his, smashing out the driver side window by striking the window with his fists numerous times. He then punched the driver, a 36 year old male in the shoulder due to his driving behavior.   The suspect was arrested at scene for Assault and Mischief.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash
 
The New Westminster Police received a call that a vehicle had driven into a building in the 900 block of Ewen Ave. At approx 0200 a.m., The police attended to discover that a vehicle had been driven into the garage of a townhouse. Investigation revealed that the suspect driver, who was impaired, had intended on moving his vehicle from one parking space to the one next to it, after having been drinking alcohol at a nearby residence. In doing so, he lost control of the vehicle, smashed out a light and sped off 50 meters down the way and into another townhouse. Impaired Driving charges have been submitted.
 
Weapons File
 
The police received a call that two subjects had come out of a residence in the 1100 block of Nanaimo Street and fired a gun. The investigation concluded with all of the occupants of the residence being taken into custody and the discovery of a paint gun.
 
Theft of Auto
 
The owner of a vehicle attended a service station and left his vehicle engine running as he ran in to purchase cigarettes. A male jumped into the unoccupied vehicle and fled. New Westminster police recovered the stolen vehicle several days later and arrested a suspect who was in posession of the keys for the vehicle.
 
Graffiti
 
A suspect was stopped in the course of an investigation for mischief. The suspect had spray painted graffiti on a local business and was stopped a distance away. A police dog search was conducted which was successful in recovering the backpack found to contain the spray cans used for the Graffiti.

Kidnapping
 
Members of the New Westminster Police Major Crime Section took over an investigation that started when a complaint was received from a victim who claimed they were kidnapped and robbed at gun point. The suspects claimed to be undercover police officers and initially the victim complied with their demands. Once the suspects robbed the victim they released him in a park with his hands bound. The victim broke free and then reported the incident to police the following day. The victims vehicle was stolen during the robbery and was located burned in Surrey.
 
Break and Enter and Assault
 
The New Westminster Police received a complaint from a victim regarding a break and enter. The victim reported that two males broke into his home and produced firearms. The suspects robbed the victim and appeared to be looking for another unknown person. This may be a case of mistaken identity.
 
Forcible Confinement
 
The New Westminster Police responded to a report of a man with a gun assaulting a female. Upon arrival police determined that the male suspect had fled in a vehicle. The victims reported that they were partying in their residence and being loud. The suspect, who lived upstairs, told them to be quiet. The victims continued to make noise which caused the suspect to break into their basement suite and threaten the victims with a handgun. The suspect has been identified and charges have been approved and the suspect has been remanded in custody.
